California is re-breaking it’s own solar records, according to a report from the California Solar Initiative (CalSO). California exceeded 6000MW in mid-April, not including an estimated 3000MW from LADWP and others not tracked through their system. This is obviously great news, especially to those of us in the solar industry. This record represents a 4X increase over what the record was a couple years.
The best news in the article, I thought, was a reference to Germany toward the end of the article. Germany had 38,458MW of solar installed as of last February. California is 1.2X bigger than Germany in land mass, and obviously has a weather advantage to Germany. So, it seems like a smart bet to continue.
