LG Solar recently announced their plan for a plant in Huntsville, Alabama for assembling solar modules. About 160 full-time jobs are estimated to be created with the opening of this new factory, which would increase LG’s employment in Huntsville by 60 percent to 400 plus workers.
LG Electronics is investing $28 mil. to establish this new factory with 2 production lines on the 48 acre campus in Huntsville AL, where LG has maintained operation for 4 decades. This highlights LG’s dedication to investing in America and to leading the way in sustainable energy for our environment.
Opening early in 2019, the new assembly plant is expected to create 500 mW of high-performing solar modules every year. “That’s over a million solar panels a year,” said Soon Kwon, global president of the LG B2B Company.
